  1. Tunze vs Ecotech

Thanks for the replies. I'm getting a couple of used 6055's to try out. I have a friend that will let me borrow one of his vortechs to test also.
  2. Tunze vs Ecotech

I'm in the market for some new powerheads. Give me your experiences with the tunze controllable pumps vs the ecotech pumps. Both would be controlled through an apex. It seems to me people are always replacing parts with the ecotech, especially wet sides, but maybe those complaints are what just caught my eyes and are not par for the course. These are going in a 90 gallon tank if you want to give me recommendations on specific model numbers too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
  3. Aquatic Sealife - Thumbs up

I drove down there a few weeks ago to check it out. I was greeted by both people in the store, but as I am not very talkative, they let me browse until I had questions. Store was set up nice. I did see a few sick fish, but I've seen sick fish in every store. Some stores you won't see them out front because 1) they have a quarantine system in the back, 2) they got lucky with their shipments from vendors, 3)they removed them before you could see them. The two guys that were there seemed nice enough. We talked about a spotted sweetlips that I fell in love with, but would need a way larger tank to take him home. I bought aquaforest salt from them, as I saw they were a vendor(my reasoning for going there). I've traveled to the New Orleans area for years because I didn't like the Baton Rouge area stores. Now Baton Rouge has some wonderful stores too, but I still go to the Kenner/Metairie stores. This one will be added to my list.

  5. Open stock tanks @ petco

Picked up a 29 for my new sump and a 20 regular for a QT tank or possibly a top off water container if it will fit in the cabinet I'm buying.

I want the tank if it's still available.
  8. Transporting livestock long distances

Shipping would be great, if not for that whole sitting on the porch until I get home thing.
  9. I may be making a trip to Los Angeles this summer. If I were to purchase some corals and/or fish while there how would you recommend bringing them back. Purchasing around midday on a Thursday and not getting home until late Saturday evening. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 55-60 hours of transport. I'm thinking of getting water from the vendor and changing it out after half way or so. Also, thinking of eggcrate cut to fit inside a rubbermaid container to tie corals to. Then putting that container inside a larger dry container to avoid spillage in the car. Any fish would be in a separate container, but utilize the same techniques. Give me your thoughts and/or suggestions.
  10. Fritz complete marine salt

Kirk, what ever came about with these issues? I only ask because they are supposed to be a fragniappe this weekend and I'm looking for salt.
