Adventure Pets opened in June 2001. AP is a full line pet store specializing in all natural, super premium pet foods and supplements for all animals. Dog and cat supplies, small animals, and their supplies are our biggest departments but freshwater and saltwater fish and supplies are a rapidly expanding section. Our mission is to help our customers do the right thing for all their pets (including fish and corals) by educating them and providing them with access to the best foods, supplements and supplies. We don't carry anything that we are not comfortable selling. For that reason, we sometimes drop products and we are constantly adding new products. We have access to many lines that we don't have in the store but are happy to special order. This is especially true in saltwater where there are many high end items that would be expensive for us to keep in stock but which we can get in quickly, usually at competitive prices.
My husband, Stephen, and I are the owners and founders of Adventure Pets. It is our personal mission to do the right thing for our customers and their pets, by learning constantly about everything we can and carrying the best products we can. (Sometimes it is a little overwhelming). We stress to our employees that if they remember to treat their customers as they would want to be treated, then everything else will follow. We support our community by supporting schools and rescue groups in a number of different ways.
We are both from Louisiana, both LSU graduates and huge LSU fans. We bleed purple and gold. Obviously we are Saints fans as well, who isn't? We have lived in Mandeville for 21+ years. Prior to opening Adventure Pets, Stephen owned a trucking business and I was a petroleum engineer. We have 2 sons, 24 and 19; one graduating from LSU and one at Mississippi College. We are members of St. Timothy United Methodist church where we are active in many areas but especially with the youth.
